A: An intermediate rolling post serves several functions. It enables an extremely large door to be fabricated, shipped and installed in two or more sections, for easier handling. Constructed with an interlocking jamb molding, the intermediate rolling post enables two doors to be joined together to form a “T,” desired in some settings, and also adds stability and security for doors spanning larger openings. The intermediate rolling post also enables the door to have foot bolts that would throw down into the floor.
